If there is one long-standing rivalry when it comes to singers in Bollywood it has to be the one between Badshah and Honey Singh. Well, the long-running feud – which began in 2009, is no more. The ‘Genda Phool’ singer has publically ended his feud with rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Badshah ends over a decade-long feud with Honey Singh

As per a Hindustan Times report, Badshah paused his performance at GraFest 2024 on Friday in Dehradun and addressed his fight with Yo Yo Honey Singh. The singer ended the over-a-decade-long feud by saying he is ready to move on and wishing him ‘all the best’

Stopping his performance midway, Badshah spoke about their differences saying, “There was a phase in my life where I held this grudge against one, and now I want to call it quits and leave that grudge behind – and that’s Honey Singh.” He continued, “I was unhappy because of some misunderstandings, but then I realised when we were together, jodne waale bahut kam the, todneh waale bahut the (There were many to break but very few to fix).”

Badshah added, “Today I just want to let everyone know I’ve left that phase behind, and I wish him all the best.” Singh is yet to comment on Badshah’s statement.

Badshah-Honey Singh feud

Badshah and Honey Singh started out together as part of the rap band Mafia Mundeer. The band – which delivered hits like Khol Bota and Delhi ke Deewane, also included rappers Ikka, Lil Golu, and Raftaar. The musicians had a public fallout in 2009. After the tiff, the duo went their separate ways and regularly took potshots at each other.

While on a podcast with Raj Shamani, Badshah spoke about ‘Mafia Mundeer’ and his rift with Honey Singh. He revealed that despite being part of the band they never met, but if they had, things would have been different. He said, “We made songs but they were not released. Honey was just concentrating on his career. I have been associated with Mafia Mundeer since 2006, and by 2009, my parents were very worried about me. In 2011, my first song with Honey came out Get Up Jawani…”

He continued, “You (Honey) should not be so self-centred. On the one hand, you call us brothers, but on the other, you fail to acknowledge our struggles. He made us sign blank papers; what about those contracts? It was a tough phase.”
